“In The Aeroplane Over the Sea” cover

I get really excited when people subscribe to my blog. This just started happening. I check my AOL mail [yes I still have an AOL mail account that says, “You’ve Got Mail” and my co-workers say, “you still have an AOL mail account?” as if they are shocked and think I’m living in the past. Which I am.]

When someone subscribes, WordPress [this blog venue] sends an email telling me “‘So and so’ subscribed to your blog.” “What wonderful news”, I think out loud. I then run around the entire floor singing, Josh Groban’s “You Raise Me Up” while smiling and handing out packages of  Judy Garland figurines attached with a ribbon to a solitary York Peppermint Pattie. People love them. They ask, “Becky, when are you going to hang out those things again?” and I say, “Can you be more specific?” and they say, “Those figurines with the candy”. And I reply, “When someone subscribes to my blog, of course”. Then we all laugh and hug each other.

Speaking of subscriptions, I am subscribed to a singer on youtube because I love her voice and she covers songs I like. Today I was pleasantly surprised that she covered Neutral Milk Hotel’s “In The Aeroplane Over the Sea”, which is a song I personally discovered when I heard Fanfarlo’s cover.

Do you like it?

  1. Whenever I see a girl singing while playing piano it reminds me of regina Spektor, except I think this chick’s voice is much prettier .
