Late Night Visitor

Had a visitor on the back deck tonight.

“What does it want?” I asked my mom.

“Shelter,” she answered.

I wish we could invite the cat in the house. Play with mouse toys. Comb each other’s hair. Share some warm milk by the fire.

But that just wouldn’t happen.

My sister is allergic and deathly afraid of cats.

Years ago, we couldn’t find my sister inside or outside the house. We found her locked in our car. She jumped in, and locked herself in the car after a cat crossed her path.

I like cats. I’ve never owned one.

I used to “catsit” my elderly neighbor’s cat when they went on vacation. I loved it.

The cat was orange. It’s name was Sandy.

You mean, this isn’t how you are supposed to hold a cat?
